Medical Sciences
The Medical Sciences Program is designed for high school students who want to explore careers in medicine. This program offers a challenging curriculum that blends classroom learning with hands-on clinical and laboratory experiences. Students gain practical medical skills and training, preparing them for higher education in healthcare and future roles in the medical field. The goal is to equip students to succeed in the complex world of healthcare and make a meaningful impact on patient care.
Eligibility Requirements:
Incoming Freshmen – must have earned all As and Bs and taken Algebra 1 Honors.
Rising Sophomores - minimum 3.0 GPA
Courses:
- Health Science Anatomy & Physiology Honors
- Select this course on your 9th or 10th grade course selection sheet if you are interested in the program!
- Health Science Foundations Honors
- Allied Health Assisting 3 Honors (Clinical Course)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Exercise Science (similar to sports medicine) - includes clinical hours on campus or in industry
Industry Certifications:
- Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS) - 1st Semester of 3rd year
- Certified Personal Trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine - 2nd Semester of 3rd Year
- Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) - 4th year
- CPR Certified
